Free · no catch · you keep everything

Got a website, or need one?

Either way it ends the same: something live on your own domain that you own outright. If you already have a site, I'll tell you what's wrong with it first — free.

I have a site

Free teardown first, back within 24 hours. I only do a handful a day.

I need one

Nothing to review yet — so start from the look instead. Pick a direction in four pairs, no call and nothing to join. Or see what it costs — one page at $499, or five at $999.

The last twenty percent

Anyone can make a mockup. That's not the hard part.

A mockup is a picture of a website. Everything that makes it work has to be plugged in behind it. A page that isn't live has converted exactly nobody.

What the free teardown covers

Five findings, ranked by what each one costs you.

A composite schematic, not anyone's real page — but this is the shape of what lands in your inbox: your own page, marked up, pins numbered in the order they cost you money.

  1. 1

    Above the fold

What it is, who it's for, what to do next.

  2. 2

    Competing calls to action

More than one primary action means the page has none.

  3. 3

    Mobile reality

Checked on a real phone: tap targets, form usability, legibility.

  4. 4

    Speed

Over three seconds on mobile inflates what you pay per acquisition.

  5. 5

    Friction in the form

Field count, required fields, and where submissions actually go.

IT ARRIVES AS A PAGE, AT ITS OWN ADDRESS pagethatworks.com/p/your-business opens on your phone, nothing to download, yours to keep either way
Not a PDF attachment. A page at its own address, so you can open it on your phone, and forward it to whoever else has a say. The marked-up page above is what is on it.

No site yet? The same five are the build spec. On a page you already have they are a diagnosis; on one I build for you they are the checklist it has to pass before I hand it over.

Why it's free, since the build is paid upfront

You see the work before you spend anything. All five findings are yours whether you hire me or not. If your page is already fine, I'll say so instead of selling you a build.

The build

New, or replacing what you have. If there's a site there already I don't patch it — I build the replacement alongside it, and your current site stays up and working until the new one goes live. Nothing is switched over until you've seen it.

WHAT YOU HAVE WHAT REPLACES IT three buttons, no form, 9px text one action, form in the first screen
A composite schematic, not anyone's real page. The pattern on the left is the one I find most often on a site that has been up for a few years: everything the business does, three equal buttons, and no way to make contact without hunting for it.
your current site stays up and working then it switches Your site, live today I build the replacement You see it, you approve Domain points at the new one nothing of yours is touched until the last stop
The switch is one DNS change at the end, so there is no window where your business has no website. If you don't like what you see, nothing has changed and you keep the review.

Launch

$499 one-off, paid upfront

  • One landing page, written and built around a single conversion goal
  • Deployed to your domain, not a preview link
  • Contact or booking form wired to your inbox, tested before delivery
  • Your ad pixel wired to a real conversion event — not just a pageview
  • Mobile-first, because most of your traffic is
  • Global CDN, SSL, sub-second load times worldwide
  • Your own analytics dashboard, installed and verified
  • Two rounds of revisions
  • Live within 72 hours of your brief
  • First month of hosting included
  • Every file handed over on day one — a zip, not on request
  • A written handover: where every file is, and which line to edit

Start my build — $499

Live within 72 hours of your brief, or I refund you and you keep the page. Payment first, then a 5-minute brief. The clock starts when the brief lands.

Site

$999 one-off

Five pages instead of one, for a business that needs a website rather than a campaign. Same build, same ownership, same refund. Your home page is live in 72 hours; the rest inside five business days.

Bought a page at a time these five come to $1,295. Together they are $999, so you keep $296. Two revision rounds across the whole site, not per page.

Build my site — $999

Miss either date and I refund you and you keep the site. Same clock rule: it starts when your brief lands, not when you pay.

Before I build, you pick

four directions, one of them yours
Four directions, built and speed-tested before you see them. You pick one, or say what you want changed about it.
desktop, 1440 phone, 390
Every build is laid out for the phone as its own design, not a desktop page squeezed down. Most of your traffic arrives on the right-hand one.

Bigger than that

from $2,500

Ten pages or more, or anything needing a store, bookings or logins. Quoted properly, half up front, and it does not pretend to be a 72-hour job. Tell me what you need.

Then I keep it running

Hosted

$29/month, or $290/year

Hosting, SSL, backups, uptime monitoring, and one text or image change a month. You email, it's done.

Managed

$99/month, or $990/year

Everything above, plus two hours of changes a month, priority turnaround, and a quarterly look at your numbers with specific recommendations for what to change next.

Your first month is included with a build, so there's nothing to choose now.

Neither plan is required. The site is yours either way.

Your domain, your registrar

Not a subdomain of mine, not a preview link.

Hosting is optional

Host it anywhere. Mine is $29/month, cancel on 30 days.

Files handed over day one

Ask any time. No exit fee, no waiting period.

No retainer, no lock-in

No minimum term. Nothing renews unless you choose it.

Worth checking against anyone else you're considering: fixed-price builders often make monthly hosting mandatory.

Every price, published

Two prices, and no quote to wait for.

  • Landing page · $499 · 72 h
  • Five pages · $999 · 5 days
  • Teardown · free

Every extra, every refund term and the work I turn down are published in full — including the figures that don't flatter me. See the complete list.

Nine competitors publish a headline price and quote the rest.

Fair questions

The three that decide it.

I already have a site. What happens to it?

It stays up while I build the replacement — nothing switches over until you've seen it. Your existing page addresses keep working, so links and search results don't break. Bring whatever text and images you want kept.

What if I don't like it?

Two revision rounds are included, and there's no refund after the first draft — which is exactly why the teardown is free: you see the work on your own page before you pay anything.

72 hours from when?

From when I receive your completed brief, not from payment. Complete brief, clock starts.

Three more are answered on the questions page — Squarespace, Fiverr, and whether it can live on your WordPress site.

Start wherever you are

I don't send you a design. I send you a URL that works.

Have a site? Send the address and get it back marked up, five findings ranked by cost, free. Decide about a build afterwards.

No site yet? Go straight to the build — $499 for one page, $999 for five.
